MISSION STATEMENT


The mission metformin hcl 500 mg dosage of International Professional Partnerships for Sierra Leone, Inc. is to support the progress of Sierra Leone’s public sector development through technical assistance, fellowships with government agencies, and other international professional partnerships.

VISION STATEMENT


IPPSL aims metformin side effects in women to benefit Sierra Leone and its fellows alike. Sierra Leone will gain from our fellows’ hard work and technical proficiency, including skill and knowledge transfer. Fellows, in turn, will learn and benefit from their Sierra Leone hosts, and receive valuable training in technical assistance, government and development work. These initial partnerships will lay the groundwork for deeper, broader and long-lasting relationships, bridging global North & South in common purpose.

Sierra Leone has been stable & secure for several years, and the new government features major figures in democracy, human rights and anti-corruption work. A working state & effective public services are essential to preserving this stability and preventing war’s recurrence.

STRATEGY & METHOD


IPPSL will contribute to this moment of possibility by partnering with the Sierra Leone Government to promote sill diffusion over the long term; and, in the short term, cross-culturally experienced fellows of personal integrity and professional talent will serve to strengthen public agencies and help enact Sierra Leone’s goals of public sector development.

IPPSL | Horizontal LogoDesigned at the request and in extensive consultation with the Government of Sierra Leone (GoSL), IPPSL identifies, recruits, trains, and delivers talented, cross-culturally experienced professionals to work in ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs), at no cost to the GoSL.

The aim of the Partnership is to supplement MDA staff with skilled individuals, who can help put policies envisioned by Sierra Leone officials into place.

IPPSL Fellows enhance government capacity both in the short-term — by performing tasks requiring technical proficiencies which are scarce or unavailable in Sierra Leone — and in the long-term — by transferring skills to their Sierra Leone counterparts and improving intra-agency systems for internal management and external delivery.

TACTICS & RESPONSIBILITIES


IPPSL Staff (i.e., Board of Directors & Associates) help the GoSL assist technical assistance and capacity-building needs, recruit international young professionals with necessary skill sets, train the professional before arrival, and provide logistical support, access to information, and pro bono technical advise and expertise through partnerships with institutions and individuals around the world.

The administrative & organizational management responsibilities of the IPPSL Board of Directors & Associates include:

  • Working with the GoSL to identify needs within public sector for technical assistance and/or capacity building that cannot be filled from within Sierra Leone, but which international young professionals could fill;
  • Identifying & Recruiting young professionals from the Sierra Leone Diaspora and abroad, who demonstrate technical qualifications required to fill capacity-building need within the country;
  • Training & Preparing IPPSL Fellows for social & professional life in Sierra Leone; arranging travel, as well as living & work placement logistics;
  • Providing ongoing professional support to IPPSL Fellows, while they work in Sierra Leone, including advice regarding structural, political, and individual (human) particularities of the government units in which our Fellows will be operating. IPPSL trains our Fellows in how to build relationships with colleagues and supervisors, with officials outside their own unit, and with actors outside of the government. Moreover, IPPSL provides our fellows with advice on how to address the ethical & professional dilemmas they may face in their work;
  • Monitoring & Evaluating work of fellows, in conjunction with the GoSL Public Sector Reform Unit (PSRU) and respective ministries, to maximize the usefulness & effectiveness of our Fellows’ work. IPPSL’s close relationship with government MDAs in Sierra Leone enable our organization to continuously evaluate our Fellow’s performance, in order to improve individuals’ contributions while in Sierra Leone, and also to enchance IPPSL’s effectiveness as an organization; and…
  • Engaging alumni of the IPPSL International Fellowship Program in ongoing relationship-building to maximize their continue interest in and work for public sector development in Sierra Leone.
